After the game, he was interviewed and it was interesting hearing him talking about asking Edwin Diaz if he remembered his first major league strikeout and Diaz saying, "Yeah it was you." Naquin said he was expecting 95-97 MPH from the scouting report on Diaz and instead got 101. I looked it up and Edwin made his MLB debut on June 6, 2016, and Naquin was his only strikeout that day.

Fitting that Naquin's first home game with the Mets, he hit two home runs (the first player in the history of the franchise to do that) and Diaz got a two-inning save (first six out save of his career).

In Naquin's first game for the Mets, Howie Rose said that physically, he reminded him of Danny Heep. And guess what Naquin's number is: 25.

I remember watching the 2012 draft when Naquin was drafted 15th by Cleveland, three picks behind Gavin Zucchini and three picks ahead of Corey Seager. With his acquisition, the franchise finally makes up for drafting Gavin Zucchini in 2012.
