In 2021, Aaron had one of the best season ever by a Mets reliever. We hope he returns in 2022.

One of the dumbest things the Mets did in the 2021-2022 offseason was not bring Loup back. He had the best season of a non-closer Mets reliever that I can remember and is one of the relative few in big league history with 50+ games and an ERA under 1 in a single campaign.
Instead they went out and got guys like Adam Ottavino, Chasen Shreve and Joely Rodriguez ... all of whom have the potential to post 2.50 ERA campaigns or 4.50 ERA campaigns. Career-wise, Loup is far-and-away better than all of them. He cost the Angels only $7.5 million per year.
What was NY thinking letting him go?

Maybe Mets management didn't like him drinking a beer during a press conference. That MAY have been okay, but it was a can of Busch beer, and that proved his judgement was suspect.
