The Mets did not give him a huge contract but this may be the absolute least ever the team has gotten back for their money. A year and a half into his contract the guy still has a gigantic leg brace on and extremely vague injuries. We can’t get any details because he does not want to make a bigger deal out of it than it is. I guess just taking the millions for doing nothing is preferable.

Possibly the worst Mets signing of all time, and that says a lot.

Poor guy played in an exhibition game with a full leg brace because his PCL was essentially non-existent and it went undiagnosed. He was signed to contribute after having a really good year with Oakland, but unfortunately his physical ailments never allowed him to play consistently for the Mets. Wish him well moving forward.

Two years, $20 million, 9 games, 7 at-bats, zero hits.
Those are Lowrie's topsy-turvy Mets numbers.
I was leery about his signing to begin with as he was hyper-inconsistent throughout his career (.290 BA in 2013, .249 in 2014, for example) and he was coming off an anomalous year no one could have expected him to repeat.
And boy howdy did he not repeat it.
