HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

Chris made his official Mets debut in heroic fasion last night with his rip down the right field line to take the lead in a big comeback against the Nats. My gripe is that he should have been instantly on the team (after the trade) last year when we had NOBODY with power left in the line up.

ANIMAL! ANIMAL!! AHHHHHHHH!!!Gotta love a guy who not only reminds us of a Muppet but also comes to the plate to the sound of Real American. Of course with the way he paces around the dugout before an at bat it's not like he needs to hulk up.

To respond to Anthony R's comment about Chris Carter, the reason Carter was not on the Mets team immediately after the trade, is that he was not in the Mets organization. Carter came to the Mets from the Red Sox after the season as a "player to be named later".According to a report that I had read, we can thank our friends in the Bronx for that. Since the trade occurred after the July 31 deadline, Carter had to clear waivers. The Yankees reportedly put in a claim for him, in an attempt to kill the trade and keep Wagner away from the Red Sox. The Sox had to pull him off waivers and deliver him to the Mets after the season. This meant that the Sox had to keep him on their 40-man roster, requiring them to drop someone else. So with one move, the Yankees managed to stick it to two enemies. Evil is as evil does.

There is a few degrees of separation between Chris Carter and myself. My best friend Pete lives in Yakima, Washington. And has a son named Daniel. Chris used to play for the Yakima Bears. Each player was assigned a Bear Buddy. His happened to be my godson Daniel. He gave Daniel alot of Bears stuff like balls, bats, tickets, etc. as a young kid, Daniel was excited that a ballplayer would befriend him like Chris did. I was really happy that Chris was traded to the Mets, and is getting a chance to play this year. Unleash the ANIMAL.

I liked the work ethic of this guy a lot. The Mets thin bench could have used him this year but after spending 2011 in the minors for other teams, he is playing in Japan for the Saitama Seibu Lions in 2012.
