October 15, 2002 Speedy guy who I thought could have been a good major league lead off hitter. Unfortunately for Wayne you have to be able to hit and he couldn't hit at all.
September 24, 2005 I went to high school with Wayne. I love that guy. He's a great guy and a wonderful baseball player.
October 4, 2005 Whenever he came up to bat, I used to call him "Boy Howdy." I think the reason why I called him that was I likely was in a John Lennon frame of mind and was playing around with words the way he used to. "Boy Howdy" sounded close to Wayne's name, so it stuck.
