This was my first game working for the Mets in promotions, and when I got out of the game and walked toward the Shea Bridge, I saw the crowd standing for Bartolo Colon in a bases loaded situation (hit a sac fly), then the Mets took the lead the next inning (I think) and Jeurys Familia came on to close it.

My first visit to Citi in 2015 went almost 100% well since it was HAPPY HARVEY DAY despite Matt being less than 100% physically on David Wright Schedule Poster day (I gave mine to my friend Kathy's son Adam since they showed up late). But the day despite being sunny and in the mid 60's wasn't perfect when Blevens and d'Aruaud got hurt and despite the fact that Blue Smoke is NO LONGER SERVING RIBS!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! But the Mets won despite a little drama in the 9th.

The Mets beat the Braves to complete a three-game series sweep over Atlanta in this game. The victory also gave the Mets eleven wins in a row for the fifth time in team history. Their previous streaks of 11 straight came in 1969, 1972, 1986 and 1990.

I sat near the apple and could see into the bullpen, watching THOR take his warm up throws and high fives on the way to the field. Grandy's HR was beautiful. It was great being so close to Lagares in CF.

The 2015 Mets have every one of their games documented on YouTube except six, and this is one of them. There are game highlights available from the SNY feed, but they just have raw audio without Gary, Keith, and Ron.

24,406 saw this Wednesday afternoon game at Citi Field, an early and impressive Noah Syndergaard start. I'm sure I watched it with commentary from the SNY team because in 2015, I had the MLB.com package so I watched almost every game of the season.

Around the time of this game, my impression was that the energy at Citi Field was 'up' for the first time in the history of the ballpark. Besides individual performances by R.A. Dickey and Matt Harvey, there had been no reason for fans to get excited about the team until 2015. Now, finally, there was a wave of optimism around the team. Also, this game was of particular interest because of the new fireballing phenom from Texas, starting his fourth career game that day.

Noah pitched 7.1 scoreless innings in this one, giving up 6 hits, 0 walks, and 6 strikeouts, good for a game score of 72, only his 6th best outing that season. He also went 3-3 at the plate and hit a home run to deep center field. The legend of 'Thor' was just beginning to take form.

This win brought the Mets record to 27-21, 1.5 games out of first and for the first time in years, it seemed like something special was in the air.

What a game for eeGrom and the Mets! The Padres only had 28 batters. Two singles and one double play. The Padres only had 1 LOB. Amazing. DeGrom was perfect through 15 batters.

Also, Cashner for the Padres had 12Ks through 4 2/3 but gave up 11 hits and 6 runs and was taken out. Strange game.

Was all set to leave this game after Gee was serving up batting practice, but the bottom of the fourth with the 2 home runs, showed some life and finally take the lead in the sixth and hold on for the win!! I don't know if I ever attended a game where the Mets hit 4 home runs. Great come back and I hope a confidence builder.

I remember this game, when the Braves took a 5-1 lead going to the bottom of the third, I was ready to leave this game, then Flores base hit made it 5-3, then Gee goes out and gives it back plus 1, then Ciciliani and Herrera homers to bring it to 8-5 and with Gee gone decided to stay and watched the comeback completed with Lagares' 3 run homer to take the lead. They lost a lot of games painfully, it was nice to see them win this one.

This was the craziest Mets game I've ever attended. I was part of the 7LineArmy group, sitting in left field. We were loud, raucous, but well behaved. The Braves fans did not know how to handle our fun. Nearly 800 thundersticks can make a lot of noice! lol In the 4th inning, Braves security came to advice us to stop using them. At first it was ignored and we got LOUDER! But the urging of the 7Line leader, Darren, we put them down (until the 9th inning!) Fox TV sent a film crew to show us in action. The group chanted 'We're on TV. we're on TV'. The group had a blast, but the Mets could not hold on to their 2-0 lead and lost 6-4.

This was Steven Matz’s first appearance in a major league game. His inaugural was delayed several hours since the game from the previous day was suspended and had to be completed – in 13 innings! It was well worth the wait for Matz. He got the win and helped his own cause big time with a double, two singles and four RBIs! It was one of the best debuts in baseball history.

My wife and I live in Texas and we were in New York celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. We were married on July 12, 2014 and were at the Mets game for the momentous event. I caught a foul ball during Kirk Nieuwenhuis' 1st of 3 home run at bats! It was the first foul ball I’ve ever caught, so it was mega special because of that and it was on our anniversary and in a game that Nieuwenhuis made history. My wife and I had a blast and the ball is displayed in our home to this day!!

Was at this game on a hot and sunny afternoon as they gave out the Curtis Grandeson FATHEAD. I was hoping that they would save some runs the night after their offensive explosion as Juan Uribe saves the day with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th inning.

I was at this game with my wife and daughter and it happened to be one of the few games Jenrry Meija appeared in all season. He wound up getting the win in relief (his only win in 2015) as the Mets came back in the 10th after Familia blew the save opportunity by giving up 2 runs in the top of the 9th.

As it would turn out, this game had the same matchup of starting pitchers (Greinke vs deGrom) and the same final score (3-2) as the Mets series clinching win in the final game of the five-game Division series versus the Dodgers on October 15th of 2015.

This was the infamous game during which it was reported that Wilmer Flores was being traded to the Brewers but he was not pulled from the game for several innings and he was shown on television (coast-to-coast) crying at shortstop. But after the game, it was announced that the trade had fallen through, and two days later Wilmer hits a walk-off homer and becomes an instant Mets hero.

September 30, 2015

Was really bummed on the 7 train home after this game for two reasons. First, the Mets were in the thick of a pennant race and this was a brutal loss to a struggling team. Second, I was upset about "trade" that was rumored during the game (Wheeler and Flores for Carlos Gomez). Carlos Gomez was not the impact bat the Mets needed and the price was too high for him. Lucas Duda did hit 3 home runs though.

Boy was I ecstatic when I got home, turned on SNY and learned that the trade did not go down. Looking back, it was as if this "no trade" gave the Mets second life for the rest of the season.

This was the best game I've ever been at. The game was SO intense, not only because of the playoff implications, but in extras, no-one would get on base until the Flores walk-off home run. There were several chants with his name. It was a thriller.

I remember that it was an uncomfortably hot and humid night. I was sprawled across my seat at Citi Field, wondering how much longer the game would last. Many fans had left because it was late. The remaining crowd was rather subdued, like I was. But at the crack of the ball coming off Wilmer Flores’ bat leading off the bottom of the 12th, the crowd instantaneously came to life. Everyone sprang to their feet in anticipation and when the ball cleared the fence, the celebration was on! It was an exhilarating moment in a memorable season.

Raymond, you're right about this game being the one that turned the Mets' season around. It was the start of a series sweep over the Nationals that tied them with the Washington team for first place in the National League East. The Mets would take over the lead for good in Miami one night later.

The Mets' victory came under some unique circumstances. It was declared "Wilmer Flores Night" at Citi Field just two days after the supposed trade of Flores to Milwaukee that never happened. The sight of Wilmer in tears over the trade rumors was fresh in everyone's mind and a special tribute was being paid to the man who didn't want to leave New York. In storybook fashion, Wilmer drove in both Mets runs with a single and a walk-off homer that ignited the team on its run to the title.

The home run in the twelfth inning was the first of four walk-offs that Flores would have in a Mets uniform. Four other players in team history had accomplished this feat prior to Wilmer. Coincidentally, this first one came on the same calendar date as Chris Jones' fourth walk-off homer as a Met in 1996.

I had picked out this game some time ago to take my wife and sons to Citi Field and it turned out to be the first game for Cespedes as a Met and was SRO. I got out of work in time for the start of the game, and with the third inning home runs, the Shea Bridge went BANANAS! Wild screaming, some fans waving The 7 Line hit towels, it was an awesome scene at the ballpark that night.

The Mets win moved them into a tie for 1st place with the Nationals and then gained first place for good the next night in Miami.

I've been to games before at Citi but no game was as intense as this one. I lost my voice after the third inning. It started out shaky after a home run by Escobar in the first inning but that was all but forgotten in the third inning. The crowd went crazy after Syndergaard struck out Thor. Overall awesome game and the start of an amazing run.

This is the game that gave the Mets sole possession of first place in the N. L. East. Michael Conforto got it started with his first major league home run in the second inning. Yoenis Cespedes added a pair of two-run doubles and Bartolo Colon pitched scoreless ball before a run in the eighth. A great victory to put the Mets on top of the division standings for good.

This was the "Rally Parakeet" game. A parakeet the same color as Cespedes' sleeve came out on the netting behind home plate. I remember drinking a bottle of red wine alone while watching this game and being worried about the little guy.

"Attraction" was how Keith Hernandez described it, and in his next at bat, Cespedes hit his first home run as a Met, and the SNY cameras found and cut to a shot of the Rally Parakeet on his perch. It was an amazing moment. "The Rally Parakeet lives!" was Gary Cohen's classic call, maybe his best ever.

The 2015 season began with a sense of possibility (the Mets started 13-3, their best start since '86) but soon hit the skids until Cespedes got hot.

Therefore, when I think of the highlight of the 2015 regular season, I think of this game before the "Wilmer Flores game" (even though Wilmer was probably my favorite Met at that time). The way I see it, that fluorescent green bird propelled Cespedes to a hot streak that in turn led the Mets to the postseason.

After this game, Mets.com beat writer Anthony DiComo posted this on his Twitter account:

Yoenis Cespedes said he wore his yellow armband because "I knew there was a bird on the field and I wanted to look like the bird."

I looked up what happened to the Rally Parakeet after this game, and never found out, but I did learn that it was a pet female budgie named 'Tequila' who lived in Whitestone, escaped after Hurricane Sandy, and made Citi Field her home.

The Rally Parakeet lives!

This game was David Wright’s first one after missing four months with an injury. In the second inning, David made a grand return with a home run in his first time at bat. The homer must have been contagious because it was the first of eight in the game for the Mets as they routed the Phils.

Ruben Tejada hit an inside-the-park home run in this game. It came on a short fly ball down the line that right fielder Domonic Brown couldn't quite reach. Brown disappeared into a section in front of the seats while the ball went all the way to the corner. By the time it was retrieved, Tejada had circled the bases for a most exciting two-run homer.

An incredible game that followed and topped another memorable game . Reminded me a bit of the 1969 NLCS when the a Mets team known for winning low-scoring games found a way to win high scoring affairs instead. Overcoming a 7-1 deficit with numerous hitters reaching safely with two outs. A classic moment in Mets history. Lots of heroes, lots of fun to watch.

This was the game that clinched the National League East Division title for the Mets. Lucas Duda got things started off big with a grand slam in the first inning and the team never looked back. Curtis Granderson and David Wright also homered and Michael Cuddyer chipped in with a two-run double. One oddity about the game is the Reds outhit the Mets, thirteen to ten. But only one of the Cincinnati hits produced any runs.

Jay Bruce struck out to end it and the celebration was on. When he became a Met the next year, Bruce joined Joe Torre (1969) and Chico Walker (1986) as players who made the final out of a Mets division clincher and played for them later in their careers.

I remember several Mets home runs in this division-clinching game, and I recall that the Mets were in control and cruising from early in the game, but my lasting memory is that I purchased my ticket for this game in mid-August (I live two hours from Cincy) in the hopes that they would clinch on this date. Only a true Mets fan could believe in that type of Mets Magic, right?!? I loved seeing all the players in blue and orange jumping up and down around the mound at the end - what an indelible moment! During the game besides the fact that Scherzer pitched a no-hitter I noticed everyone on both teams seemed to be striking out except for the very few guys on Washington who were involved in the two runs scored. Harvey with 11 Ks and the other Mets pitchers combined for 18 strikeouts, while Scherzer got struck out 17. 35 struck out batters for two teams in a nine inning game is a record by FOUR. I was there and the lighting looked ok from the stands but who knows? PS with the Dodger win later in that night the Mets were eliminated from home field for the Mets vs Dodgers playoffs.

This was the second no-hitter pitched against the Mets during a season in which they won a National League championship. The only team previously to be no-hit twice and reach the World Series the same year was the Chicago White Sox in 1917. In the words of Casey Stengel, "You could look it up."

NYB Buff pointed out that this was the second no-hitter vs. the Mets during a season when they won the NL Pennant. I was at both. It was very cold this night. Aside from Mad Max’s no-hitter, my favorite memory was when my son came back to our seats in the upper deck with a mug of hot chocolate. “How much was it?” I asked. “$16”. “$16???? For hot chocolate?” “Well, it does have Bailey’s in it”. “Was there a long line? No? I’ll be right back”. Thank God it was blanket giveaway night. We begrudgingly had to cheer for Scherzer. He was brilliant that night.

First of all, I watched this great game at a local watering hole due to the fact that I HAVEN'T had my cable since late July (money problems) and with a few exceptions I've had to rely on 710 WOR-AM with Howie, Josh and Wayne. Watched it with a few Mets supporters and when Familia struck out Howie Kendrick, I was tired as heck but it was a happy tired and the 2 bartenders that worked that night are Mets fans in a place that supports the Bronx Satanic Occult!!!! Btw, the Mets are STILL PLAYING OCTOBER BASEBALL and the Yankees are playing OCTOBER GOLF, TENNIS, HUNTING AND FISHING AND A-ROID IS VISITING A NEVADA BROTHEL!! Anyhow, TBS is doing a pretty decent job of the NL playoffs but with one exception: Cal Ripken Jr's DULL commentary!!!! Daniel Murphy stole this game from the Dodgers, literally. After a walk to Lucas Duda forced him to second base, Murphy snuck to third as the L.A. players who had shifted for Duda did not get back fast enough. What a way to make a team pay for putting on the shift! Daniel came home on Travis d'Arnaud's sacrifice fly and the game was tied. Murphy later homered to put the Mets in front to stay and it was on to the NLCS. The Mets won by outthinking the Dodgers.

What a clincher of a game!!! Although the outcome was never in doubt but in the back of my mind....When the Mets left runners on base or when Kris Bryant hit that monster HR; I was in Fred Sanford aka Redd Foxx "HEART ATTACK MODE"....Then again what the !@#% was Cespedes donning the NL Pennant shirt and goggles even before the final out (My mind flashed back to 2003 when the late Bernie Mac yelled "ROOT FOR THE CHAMPS...CHAMPS" at that same Wrigley Field before Bartman-gate or when the Red Sox painted the WORLD SERIES logo on the Fenway grass). You don't fool with mother nature and you don't tempt the baseball gods but luckily everything worked out and why was Dexter Fowler still beefing with the ump after the final out. REALLY? OK, Dexter, you can go home and watch the Mets in the WORLD SERIES against the Royals along with Joe Maddon, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Rizzo from GREASE, Bill Murray, Eddie Vedder, Jim Belushi, CM Punk, George Will, Hillary Clinton (Oh wait she's a bandwagon Bronx Evil Supporter.), Steve Bartman, The Billy Goat, the Black Cat and millions of other Cubbie fanatics!!! I remember settling in at the game to see Syndergaard getting rocked. He escaped the first only allowing a run. Then Wright stands in and crushes a bomb and Citi goes nuts. Then in the second Syndergaard gets smacked around again by KC and I think that this really is the end. But then the offense comes alive, led by my man Curtis Grandson disposing of one down the right field line, and Syndergaard pitches a beauty the rest of the way through. Ahhh Halloween Night... wasn't meant to be. This was the Mets' best chance to get back into the Series after disasters in both Game 1 and Game 2. Started off great with the rookies. Conforto with 2 home runs (1 against a lefty pitcher as well, which was significant since Conforto was mostly platooned in his early career), and Matz pitched well. Had a 3-2 lead entering the 8th inning... let's not talk about what happened after that. It's in the box score, unfortunately.

Great season...lousy ending! I was wishing and hoping (like Dusty Springfield once sang) for a Game 6 but Familia, Duda, etc blew it BIG TIME!!! And when Wade Davis struck out Wilmer Flores at 12:34 am, THAT WAS THAT!! I had to go to work on Monday (I would lose the Election Day holiday pay if I didn't) and cried and sighed with my fellow Mets rooters but also had to put up with the BANDWAGON ROYALS FANS (aka Bronx Guido Redneck Idiots who are about as wonderful as leeches) who the previous weeks rooted for the DODGERS and then CUBS. But I took their vitriol in stride and did my best GANDHI imitation instead of TED NUGENT!! But I also believe in karma and revenge when the Mets kick that @#$% door down like Bum Phillips once said and win the 2016 WORLD SERIES while the BGRI and their arrogant fans are left for dead like Joan Rivers. Thanks for a Amazin' season, Mets and see you guys in March!!

Tough ending to the season, was hoping we could take it all the way. Mets just made too many mistakes in this series. Defensive miscues and blowing 2 ninth inning leads doomed us. Having said that, this team far exceeded my expectations. I thought a playoff birth was possible, but a trip to the World Series: did not see that in the cards. Harvey was awesome and pitched his heart out. Love what the rotation will look like next year as we will be adding Wheeler to the mix. Can't wait for 2016!!! GO METS!!

A tough ending to an amazing and unexpected season. With the starting pitching it seemed possible to go all the way, but you can't blow three late inning leads in the postseason. My son and I stayed beyond the bitter end, still can't figure out where all those KC fans came from. We watched the celebration and next time will enjoy it when it's our turn. We were at the first pitch of opening day and the last one of game 5. Lots of great baseball in between. Another run in 2016 sounds good!
