Mr. Richman was a very nice man. He used to hang out at Monte’s in Greenwich Village after his baseball days. He seemed to be most proud of his 2001 AL Pennant Championship Yankees ring.

Anyway, he was a good man, very friendly. He was the one to retrieve the Buckner ball. He was also the person who talked George Steinbrenner into hiring Joe Torre. I wish he had written a book. I’m sure he had countless stories of NY baseball that would enthrall us all.
