I remember Steve being a caring big brother who happened to be a great athlete. I will always remember him calling our dad when Steve was at Duke and asking him if he could leave school to play baseball for the Mets. He promised dad that he'd come back and finish up at Duke if he'd let him go play baseball. (Which he did.) Dad finally agreed and Steve signed with the Mets in the first round of the MLB draft. The rest is history. I'm so proud of you Steve. I love you, Cindy.
