The quick yanking of Brad Emaus by Sandy Alderson seems to signify a new way of doing things in Metsland. Fail to perform and you're gone. We'll worry about finding a replacement later on. Seems to me like a good way to go for a team that has been much too complacent towards bad baseball for many years. I just hope that it doesn't happen too many times. You can't give everyone the quick hook.

A rule V draft, they had to keep him on the major league roster or lose him. His lack of hitting was one of many reasons the Mets started so poorly. Terry Collins stuck with him as long as he could stand.

Brad signed a minor league deal with the Mets a couple weeks ago. He is now playing in Triple A Buffalo. Hope to see him the big leagues again.

Unfortunately, hitting .213 through 70 games, there is no chance he'll be added to the 40-man roster and given a September call-up.

I love going through the website and reminiscing about long-forgotten Mets. Here's another one.
My primary memory of Emaus -- and a bit of Mets trivia -- Emaus had the honor of being the Mets' Opening Day second baseman in 2011. He went 0-for-2 with a walk against the Marlins that day.
