May 22, 2004 So far Billy Baldwin is the better of the two Baldwins to play on the Mets and he was a zero. I didn't like giving this lame-0 a shot in spring training and I don't see him having a future with the Mets, or any other team for that matter. He was throwing meat up there against the D-backs that was getting whacked all over. 27.00 ERA after the first start. Maybe lousy actor Alec Baldwin can pitch?
May 22, 2004 James career as a Met- 0-2 with a 15.00 ERA, in 6 innings in 2 games. Should never have been called up...actually shouldn't have been in the farm system in the first place...HE'S SHOT!
January 14, 2005 All I remember about Baldwin was the dirty hat he was wearing. It was literally covered in dirt. How did he get it so dirty? I didn't see him sliding head first into anything.
January 18, 2005 After he embarrassed himself with the Mets somehow he got a minor league contract from the O's, which tells you how bad pitching is these days.
August 19, 2006 I remember watching a SportsCenter recap of the game he pitched in Arizona. They said that an official Major League Baseball costs 21 dollars. An official Major League Baseball autographed by James Baldwin costs 6 dollars. I found that amusing.

March 28, 2010 Spring Training has rolled around again, and I am reminded of how Baldwin wowed many people, including me, prior to 2004 Opening Day... his stats tell the rest :-/
October 29, 2010 I actually did not know that Baldwin was a Met. Given his brief tenure in Flushing (5 days), I expect a lot of others missed it too. I remember Baldwin as being an innings-eater type of guy, a decent back of the rotation starter.
