HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

Pretty good outfielder for the Astros, but Bass was a fourth outfielder at best by the time he reached Flushing.

If only Marty Barrett had made it to Flushing in 1992! Bobby Bonilla made the last out of the regular season in 86. Chico Walker made the last out of the division clincher against the Cubs. And of course Bass did the honors in the NLCS. 3 of the 4 most significant outs in 86 were in blue and orange in 92!

Bass was a good outfielder in his days as an Astro. It's a shame the Mets got him when he was washed up.

Talk about the "Unknown Soldier!"

When the Mets acquired him in 1992 from the San Francisco Giants, even the sports editors didn't care about his arrival!

I think he was just about at the end of the line when he reported to Shea Stadium.

How can you not love Kevin Bass after that classic 'whiff' in the Dome VS Jesse?

Kevin did an excellent Sammy Davis Jr. routine. If Cooperstown had an Impersonation Wing, Kevin would be a first-ballot guy.

Didn't come to the Mets until August 8th of '92 and still led the team in triples with a whopping total of 2! We really burned up the basepaths that year.
