HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

This guy was one strange duck. He had some nasty pitches, and looked like he could contribute from the bullpen. I remember that he was known for eating lizards! The last I heard of him, he was implicated in a murder (?) in his home country, and was wanted by the authorities there.

He looked like a great guy out of the bullpen and was a real character as the iguana man for his eating habits. It turned out in one off season he got into a fight with someone I think it was over a car accident and ended up pulling out a gun and killing the person. He'll be lucky to get iguana meat in that Venezualan jail cell.

4 years for murder? That's a sweet deal. So how can I get Roger Clemmens to Venezuela?

I am trying to resume my professional career again in organized baseball. I am hoping to sign a contract with an affilated team with the hopes of getting a big league invite for spring training 2002. I know that I haven't been around in quite a while but I am back and better than ever.

I mainly remember Machado as a Brewer. That guy had one mean fastball and a nasty slider to go along with it. It's a shame he ruined his career and life over something so petty. If he really can pitch the way he did back in the early 90's, I hope the Mets can see into getting him back.

Julio was a great guy, I worked in the clubhouse for a season and he had me go to the pet store before a home stand and get 2-3 Iguanas to slay for his pre-game meal. Initially I was a bit disgusted by seeing him chop off their heads, but grew to love the taste, and still do to this day! Now my family doesn't always agree with my love of the Iguana, but has come around and we had a fried Iguana on the table at thanksgiving this year(along with a turkey of course!!) Thanks Julio, you are missed, but I am passing your love of eating scaly creatures to many! I remember him saying "They look like little f***ing dinosaurs man! It's like eating a dinosaur!"
