First class guy. Has also been a minor league pitching coach - helped develop quite a few ML pitchers. Signed all the cards and pictures I sent to him.

I was sitting in the loge section when Bill achieved his lone Met win in the second game of a doubleheader against the Houston Astros. He even got a base hit!
That doubleheader was memorable for me because the first game saw the Amazin's set what is believed to be a record by scoring 16 UNEARNED runs in the opener. Second, early in the game my father got into a fistfight with a fellow season ticket-holder because he grabbed the wallet Dad found out of his hand. You don't do that to a career Marine! Thankfully, neither one got thrown out.
