HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:
June 7, 2002 When he first came to Mets, team did not have a helmet that fit his head. The man has a large cranium! Did bat over .300 In his short stay. Has gone on to have a solid career as a manager.
December 14, 2004 Perhaps Bochy's most famous - or infamous - moment as a player came in the 1980 NLCS, Phillies vs. Astros. At the time, he was one of the Astros' catchers. Towards the end of Game Four, in a momentum-shifting play, Pete Rose did to him what he had done to Ray Fosse ten years earlier. In other words, BAM! By the way, starring for the Astros in that same NLCS was another future manager - Art Howe.
July 21, 2005 Reportedly, he has the largest hat size of any major leaguer. Don't know if this qualifies as a Bruce Bochy "memory", but it's right up there with the best of Bruce Bochy trivia.
